CAPTAIN has added a new and exciting program, Employment Readiness, to the list of services we provide residents of Saratoga County. CAPTAIN will administer the Youth Employment and Training Program for Saratoga County as a part of the Workforce Investment Act.
This dynamic program focuses on youth who have dropped out of school, do not have a degree or their GED, are unemployed and meet certain low-income guidelines. The goal of the program is to engage, motivate, encourage, empower and prepare youth to get their GED, earn an industry recognized certificate, enroll in post-secondary educational opportunities and/or provide youth job skill training that will ultimately increase employability.
The Employment Readiness Program is a wonderful addition to our many other services and provides an important linkage to disenfranchised youth who are not yet engaged in either school or the workforce. The program is open to residents of Saratoga County ages 17-21.

CAPTAIN will work closely with the Saratoga County Job Training Agency and the One Stop Center. Additionally, CAPTAIN is a member of the Emerging Workers Council for the Saratoga-Warren-Washington County Workforce Investment Board. If you know of someone who could benefit from this program, encourage them to contact Steve Eggleston at steve@captainyfs.org or 371-1185.
